- Arno is on a quest for redemption and he joins the Assassins as a means to obtaining it, but he’s not the only one with something at stake. After Arno’s Assassin father is murdered, Elise’s father, who is a Templar, takes Arno in. “He feels [indebted] to Arno’s father, not because he had anything to do with it, but just because of respect for his enemy, so he takes Arno under his wing,” Amancio explained. “But he doesn’t want to corrupt the memory of Arno’s father by making him become a part of the Templars, so he hides the whole Templar thing. Arno has no idea.” Arno and Elise (whose complete name is Elise De LaSerre) will then grow up together and fall in love, without Arno ever knowing that she’s part of the Templars.
- Arno has a sharp wit and is a no-nonsense type, while Elise is more of a free spirit. “She’s that girl when you’re growing up who always gets you into trouble,” Amancio said. The two stop seeing each other for a period of time, but are brought back together when Elise’s father is murdered. “Arno feels responsible for that death, so he tries to figure out why he died and who killed him.” Amancio said. “Elise has the exact same objective, but she has no redemption desire because she doesn’t feel guilty at all. It has nothing to do with her, so all she wants is to do the same thing, but her motivation is revenge: ‘They killed my father, they’re corrupting my order. I need to find who is behind this or why.’ ”
I hope we can all shut up arguing about this topic now
